Lexington Sporting Club St. Petersburg Sport reviews
Madonna wasn't worth it
Madonna was 2.5 hours late getting started, which was very disappointing. The DJ wasn't very good and after he/she finished, there was an hour of silence before Madonna came on -- not even piped in music from Yum. The show was raunchy and had too much erotica, definitely not a family show. I didn't need to see a naked female dancer in most songs, although the lesbians behind us seemed to enjoy it. Feel bad for the parents who brought their kids. This was a mixed crowd and Madonna should think about who her audience is.
I left my house at 4:30 pm in order to get downtown, have dinner and get to the Yum Center with plenty of time to relax before the concert started at 8 PM. I don't mind a little innuendo here and there but she went too far. I didn't know most of the songs and couldn't make out most of the words anyway. She forgot where she was -- How can Kentucky be confused with Oklahoma? While she knew the steps to the dances, she was off with no flair to her dancing -- just going through the motions.
The stunts, sets, and props were really cool. The acrobatics on the bending poles were awesome, and I'd love to do that. The medley of "old stuff" was to a Spanish rhythm which ruined the songs.
She whined about her overhead. Most expensive and least enjoyable concert I've ever attended and I go to an average of five concerts a year. This was the most I ever spent on tickets ($355 * 2) and it was not worth it. Lots of other icons put on flamboyant shows for less. Very disappointed in the show and Madonna. I will not go to another.
